About NLE
NoLongerEmpty.com (NLE) is a collection of experiential and personal stories using different techniques such as principles of A Course in Miracles (ACIM), mindfulness, self-compassion and gratitude to engage life and its challenges.
I founded the site to create an outlet for what I was going through – grief, illness, challenging relationships, career changes, as well as anxiety, depression, and debilitating fears…and how I surrendered and continue to trust the Spirit-led process of healing deep wounds, developing resiliency, and moving towards a fuller and more authentic life.
I also wanted to share my story to help others in their healing. When I was going through these difficult events, all I wanted to hear from someone was “me too, I’ve been there”, so that I didn’t feel so alone in my painful journey. But I had trepidation in opening up and being vulnerable to judgments. These were part of the fears I needed to confront and let go.
A shared human experience bonds us and it makes what we’re going through more bearable when we begin to understand that we’re not alone, and that there’s a better way than how we’ve done things in the past. In fact, at the essence of it all, we are all connected.
I envision NLE to include others’ stories, not just my own, in the hopes that we can build a community around our collective experiences to help alleviate suffering and remember the truth of what we really are.
About Marina
I had a career in corporate banking for many years with a focus on communications. Today I work for myself, which has allowed me to travel and pursue my passions.
My volunteer work involves coaching and facilitating workshops to help immigrant women gain employment and address their fears around finding a job, and acclimatizing to a new country. I also help out at a local drop in centre for marginalized people in the community. Further, I coach and mentor professional women looking to make career transitions, in which I often prescribe mindfulness to help ease the change.
Over 15 years ago I discovered yoga, mindfulness and meditation to deal with the death of my brother and father. These practices brought a sea change in the way I experienced life.
In the Spring of 2017, a few months after I finished cancer treatments, I picked up a copy of ACIM and became a student of the Course. Its teachings deepened and continue to deepen the inward journey into the Self.
